Three Movements for Violin and Vibraphone
Premiered by Michelle Kim, Joseph Pereira, Juilliard on July 6, 2007
Publisher: Bachovich Music Publications
“These three movements are based on the idea of the implied harmonies that lie within Bach’s Violin Sonatas and Partitas. Here both instruments work out their own identities through many timbral effects, creating a sense of tension and ambiguity. Of special note is the new effect required for the vibraphone player-the use of harmonics, which sounds 2 octaves higher than written.”
