Magnificent Desolation

Magnificent Desolation (2020) – Joseph Pereira Percussion Solo + Electronics “Magnificent Desolation”, takes its title from Buzz Aldrin’s quote, soon after his first steps on the moon. The piece was started over a year ago on the day of the 50th anniversary of the first human landing on the moon. Performed by the composer in one take on August 15, 2020, at Disney Hall. Best listened to with headphones.
